UK’s Digital Treasure Trove

The Guardian reports that the BBC and British Library have signed a memorandum of understanding to digitally archive one million hours of TV and radio output from the former and 150 million items from the latter.

Both parties will adopt a uniform approach on issues such as rights management, distribution and storage. The project is seen as supporting the government’s vision of a “Digital Britain’.
