On 13 November Sterk-Kinekor Theatres opened its brand new state of the art Junction cinemas in Centurion Mall, Centurion.
Phase one of the refurbished cinema multiplex will have four screens, using cutting edge projection technology and the latest Dolby SRD EX sound system, which is the most-advanced cinema format for digital surround sound. In February, phase two will launch with a further two new cinemas opening.
Michael Bender, Group Marketing Executive for Ster-Kinekor Theatres says the company pushed hard to have the cinemas completed for the festive season. “We’re opening with Old Dog, a true “big screen’ blockbuster, with amazing special effects and a powerful soundtrack that really comes to life on our big screen.

Also schedule for release soon are 2012, A Christmas Carol (starring Jim Carrey), Titanic director James Cameron’s groundbreaking new fantasy thriller Avatar as well as the sequel to Alvin The Chipmunks.
