Africans In London TV (AILTV) was initially founded in 2006 as a trial internet channel by musician, producer and recording engineer, Joseph ‘J.J’ Otieno Adamson. The concept was so popular that Adamson has decided to launch it as a full television channel on the Global Digital Broadcast (GDBTV) IPTV platform. AILTV aims to spotlight the skills and talents of people with African heritage and forge connections between all people of African descent.
All programmes on AILTV are either made by people of African heritage; about people of African heritage; or reflect the interests and culture of people with African heritage. Content includes fashion and beauty; music and entertainment; business and current affairs; cultural and community features; films; and documentaries.
Adamson completed a B.A. (Honours) in Audio Technology at Thames Valley University in 2005 and then went on to work with a number of African TV channels, including Faith TV, Passion TV and Revelation TV. In 2007 he met with GDBTV at the 2007 Broadcast LIVE and VideoForum show (now Broadcast Video Expo) in London and then decided to set up his own IPTV channel.
The UK branding and marketing agency, Brand Design Agency (BDA) will work closely with AILTV in order to develop AILTV branding.
