Disney head wants 3D to be flexible

Speaking at the technology trade show NAB in Las Vegas this week, Disney motion pictures group president Mark Zoradi called for technical standards to enable the wide adoption of 3D and spoke strongly against a format war for 3D for the home.

Zoradi stressed that 3D standards should be flexible so as to allow audiences to see it in any way they wish, in the highest possible quality. Disney, said Zoradi, viewed 3D as part of a holistic business opportunity and was committed to upgrading each of its distribution channels to support the 3D projects it was currently producing.
