At a film industry symposium held in Washington DC. this week, US Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke pledged to partner with the industry to combat piracy. He noted that the Obama administration was well aware of how damaging piracy was to certain industries and was committed to eradicating it.
The scourge of piracy recently come under the global spotlight with news of the illegal Internet download of a work print of the soon to be released X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the latest film from South Africa’s Oscar-winning director, Gavin Hood.
