AFP reports that Britain’s legendary Pinewood Studios, where all the James Bond films are shot, is planning a multi-million dollar expansion to its complex in north west London.
The expansion is seen as a move to attract filmmakers who are being lured to Eastern Europe because of low production costs.
Several new permanent backlots are planned for Pinewood. These include a Venetian canal, a Roman amphitheatre, a high school campus in Los Angeles and street scenes from downtown New York.
The studios, some 70 years old, are owned by Pinewood Shepperton.
