Coming Home, the Kwa Zulu Natal Lights, Camera Action! winning story written by Amber-Jay van Rooyen goes into production from Tuesday 20 November to Thursday 22 November in the Kwa Zulu Natal midlands.
The first day and a half will be on the Van Rooyen’s family farm just outside Mooi River. Filming will continue on the Wednesday afternoon and Thursday at Treverton Prep school in Mooi River. Mindpool Productions is shooting the film for the SABC.
12 year old Amber-Jay van Rooyen’s winning story in the Lights, Camera Action! film and story writing competition will be shown on SABC1 during 2008. Coming Home tells the story of a city girl {Amber-Jay} who moves to a farm and battles to fit in. She meets an old Zulu Sangoma {Hlomla Dandala} who teaches her very important life lessons.
Lights, Camera Action! will culminate in a National festival and awards in 2008 where overall national winners will be chosen from the nine short films to attend and represent South Africa at the Ciak Junior Festival in Italy in 2008
