The new South African film from the creators of “Crazy Monkey Straight Outta Benoni’ will be released countrywide on 14 September. “Footskating 101′, tells the offbeat tale of a poor miner’s son who sets out to save his small town from exploding by inventing the new extreme sport of footskating (ie. skateboarding without the board).
An extensive marketing campaign includes TV and radio spots, music videos, several trailers as well as the new “Footskating Game’ which offers prizes to contestants. The “Footskaters’ are currently touring the country, at university campuses among other “interesting places’. Additionally, the “Footskater’s Rock Compilation’ CD is out now.
Directed by Brendan Jack and produced by Ronnie Apteker, “Footskating 101′ was made for a budget of R1m.
