The Durban Wild Talk Africa Film Festival is calling on the public to vote on this year’s film entries into the first ever ROSCAR Awards. The films will be screened at selected Nu Metro cinemas in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town from 10 to 16 August.
Over a hundred local and international films in the wildlife, eco-tourism and cultural genres and from 13 countries have entered into the eight categories, ranging from Best Cinematography to Best Environmental/Conservation campaign. Many of these films will be shown to South African audiences for the first time.
The films will be screened in a two-hour slot and, as film screenings vary in length, audiences will have the opportunity to view a number of film entries during one sitting. At the cinemas a voting pamphlet will be handed out which includes the criteria of each category.
The screenings will take place at the following Nu Metro cinemas: Pavilion in Durban, Hyde Park in Johannesburg and V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, from 10 to 16 August. The screening times are 12h00, 14h30, 17h15 and 20h00.
Bookings are through Nu Metro cinemas, www.numetro.co.za, and Computicket, under the name ROSCAR Awards. Tickets cost R25 for a two-hour slot. For more information about the films and screening schedule visit www.wildtalkafrica.com or telephone 021 422 0012.
The ROSCAR Awards will be presented to winners at a gala event on 29 August at Durban’s ICC during the Durban Wild Talk Africa Film Festival & Conference.
