In its search to find the best African freestyle dancer on the continent, pay-TV music giant Channel O has scoured nightclubs in seven African cities. The show kicked off with preliminaries in February and the channel is now ready to unveil the sweat, tears and torn ligaments endured during the competition.
On Thursday, 29 March at 20:00, the Johannesburg episode will be filmed at The Rock in Soweto. The judges are Bad Boy T, Jaqcui from the pop girl group Jamali and Speedy.
Ten finalists made it to the choreography session conducted by Angelo Collins, who has performed in many high profile events, including a performance with Danny K at the 46664 concert in 2002, as well as choreography and performance with Danny K for Usher’s tour in the same year.
Africa’s best freestyle dancer will walk away with a chance to be in Malaika’s latest music video, a two-week paid up tuition programme with Dance Umbrella, as well as a chance to dance at the Channel O Africa Music Video awards to be held in October this year.
Channel O is available on channel 87 on the DStv bouquet.
