Good news for SA companies
There is good news for those of you who are interested in attending the ASIA TELEVISON FORUM (ATF), Asia’s leading TV programming market which takes place in Singapore from 29 November to 1 December 2006.
ATF has agreed to a special discount group price for South African companies which wish to attend this important Asian event. In addition the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has agreed that SA companies can apply for financial support under its Individual Exhibition Assistance scheme or the Outward Missions scheme.
ATF offers the SA television industry an opportunity to meet important Asian buyers, sellers and partners from 27 countries from South East Asia (Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Phillippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, South Asia Bangladesh, Bhutain, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka), East Asia (China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Oceania (Australia, New Zealand) as well as from Canada, France, Singapore, Spain and USA.
ATF which is co-located with the Asia Film Market & Conference (AFMC) makes up the single, most comprehensive content sourcing platform in Asia.
While participants are representative of a culturally diverse Asia, the market is nevertheless English-speaking.
ATF is presented in a hotel format and the cost of a Superior or Deluxe Suite can be shared by two companies. Screen Africa will provide details on the special price it has negotiated for SA companies. As it is a hotel suite, it will not require furnishing and it also includes a television set and VCR.
2006 ATF delegate demographics
The 7th edition of ATF expects over 400 Asian buyers, ranging from the middle to senior management (from President, Executive Director, Head of Acquisition & Distribution, Programme Acquisitions & Producer, International Programs Planning Manager etc) from countries across Asia. ATF will release the list of buyers and sellers on its website towards the end of October so people can make appointments and preparation for the market.
New export opportunity
The ATF is an excellent opportunity for South Africa to expand its market and co-production projects into a new or relatively unexplored region.
If you are interested in attending, please e-mail Angela van Schalkwyk at email@example.com and she will forward you the special ATF prices and the DTI forms.
