Variety.com reports that in contrast to its low profile prescence at previous Cannes International Film Festivals, Hollywood major Paramount is planning a big splash this year. The festival runs from 17 to 28 May in Cannes, France.

Paramount is bringing out stars such as Jamie Foxx, Beyonce Knowles, Cate Blanchett, director Oliver Stone and even former US vice president, Al Gore. Screenings will include Brad Pitt’s Babel, the DreamWorks “CGtoon” Over the Hedge, the global warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, as well as a sneak preview of Oliver Stone’s 9/11 drama, WTC.

While at Cannes, Paramount will start unveiling details of its new international infrastructure.
