Mobile and broadband platform content provider ITN Multimedia will launch its streamed 24-hour news channel service and the ITN Weather Channel on Vodafone mobile TV in the UK.
ITN already provides hot news, regular bulletins, entertainment news and soap updates on Vodafone. ITN Multimedia has pioneered the delivery of video content that is specifically produced and packaged for mobile and multimedia platforms. This is a rapidly expanding part of ITN’s business and an increasingly significant revenue stream. In SA ITN is better known for its extensive archive material.
Nicholas Wheeler, managing director of ITN Multimedia, said he foresaw that moving images on the move would become increasingly popular. He felt that Vodafone had taken a step in the right direction by including more serious content in its line-up which up to now was weighted on the light entertainment side.
