Beautiful News South Africa will be showing its short films on Mango Airlines from
September until December. The film viewing experience – set up in partnership with
Mercedes-Benz South Africa – offers in-transit entertainment to local and international
passengers, extending its audience from the online platform to in-flight broadcast.
The short films will expose stories to more than 300 000 passengers passing through
seven national airports – Cape Town, Johannesburg, Lanseria, Durban, Bloemfontein,
Port Elizabeth, and George, as well as international flights to Zanzibar.
“In-flight film is a highly visual medium that provides information and entertainment
to a high-end traveller market,” says Anthony Hinrichsen, commissioning editor of
Beautiful News. “We are proud to be aligned with the market leader in the South
African domestic airline industry. We are proud to present to this audience the
extraordinary South Africans, with all their charm, humility, and sincerity, captured on
film.”
Beautiful News aims to deliver a story each day that reflects the ‘goodness’ of the
South African people in an authentic way and showcases the untold stories through
videos that are published at 16:14 daily on the Beautiful News website.
