A European leader in production, rights acquisition, distribution and international sales of TV series and feature films, STUDIOCANAL, has sold the two critically-acclaimed series Midnight Sun and Harlan Coben’s The Five to Africa’s leading network, M-Net.
Swedish-French drama Midnight Sun, a CANAL+/SVT/Filmpool Nord co-production, will debut across 58 territories in Africa on M-Net’s new foreign language block. This latest international acquisition for Midnight Sun adds to a wide range of recently-announced deals in the UK (Sky), Germany (ZDF), Australia (SBS), Russia (Channel One), Israel (HOT), Norway (NRK), Denmark (DR), Iceland (RUV), Finland (MTV3), Belgium (VRT) and Benelux (Lumiere). The highest rated Creation Originale series launch in three years on France’s CANAL+, Midnight Sun has achieved wide critical acclaim, recently winning Best New TV Series, Best Director and Best Screenplay at the Roma Fiction Festival.
Also set to air across Africa on M-Net is bestselling author Harlan Coben’s original ten-part drama thriller The Five, produced by RED Production Company (a STUDIOCANAL company) for Sky 1.
