Los Angeles based African Technology Foundation’s Lions@frica, has partnered with Relativity Education to offer a professional development opportunity in LA from 13 June to 1 July 2016 for African media entrepreneurs from the following markets: Nigeria, South Africa, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Egypt and Morocco. More about the programme can be found here. The US State Department’s Office of Global Partnerships has been working with Lions@frica for several years.
Since inception, the Lions@frica initiative has played a significant role in catalysing Africa’s growing innovation economies and forging international partnerships to increase the capacity and credibility of entrepreneurs in the region.
Relativity Education’s ‘Hollywood in Focus’ programme is tailor made for the African media entrepreneur. The key objectives of the programme include supporting the conceptual development of independent, authentic and compelling content for distribution in their home countries and fostering creative cross-pollination between African media professionals and their American counterparts.
The initiative is seeking ten nominations of Africa-based media professionals, from which five will be accepted into the summer training programme. Deadline for nominations is 23 May 2016. Nominations are to be sent directly to: info@relativityworkshops.org.
