Mogale a local no-holds barred documentary that uncovers the social
decay of Mogale City, formerly known as Krugersdorp, will premiere on [ED]( DStv
Channel 190 and GOtv channel 65) on Monday, 1 February at 20h55 CAT. This never
before screened on television documentary will set tongues wagging as it highlights
the rapid increase of drug abuse, building hijacking, prostitution, trafficking and
corruption within the area on Gauteng’s West Rand over the past few years.
The 48 minute documentary takes a fearless look at how pimps are enslaving young
girls, and how vicious drug lords have residents living in fear. Ex drug dealers, former
prostitutes and members of the community policing forum share their dire experiences
about living and working in Mogale. The feature also investigates the key strategic
role Mogale City plays in human trafficking and drugs in sub Saharan Africa.
The director of Mogale, Dean Thompson, believes, “Mogale City is a
glimpse into what is happening in many small cities around the country, where drug
syndicates are running the streets and in many cases the police force as well.’
