South African actor / writer / producer / director Aidan Whytock, who has recently completed his debut feature, The Actor for a budget of just R49,000 (US$4,000), will be presenting a free workshop on how to make a movie on a micro budget, on Friday, 17 July at 15h00, at the Elangeni Hotel Suite 4.
In this workshop Whytock will be talking about how they achieved this and the challenges they faced. He encourages attendees to bring specific challenges they are personally facing on their own projects and will offer a collective brainstorm workshop to find solutions.
A South African-produced psychological thriller, The Actor, is paving the way for micro-budget filmmaking and intense story-telling, and will be making its South African debut at the Durban International Film Festival in venues in and around Durban from 16 to 26 July.

Whytock is an award-winning producer, director and actor who has recently worked on Black Sails, Dominion, Momentum, Mat Joubert, Saints and Strangers, and Homeland. Whytock was a Durban International Film Festival Talents Durban participant in 2014.
