BET has revealed that talented actors, comedians and on-screen co-stars Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross will be hosting of this year’s BET Awards, taking place on Sunday, 28 June, at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, CA.
The BET Awards 2015 will premiere across Africa on BET (DStv channel 129) and BET2 (DStv channel 135 on Tuesday 30 June at 20h10 CAT.

Tracee and I are going to have so much fun this year celebrating 15 years in black entertainment television,’ said Anthony Anderson. “I can’t wait to see all of my peers and the amazing performances that evening. We may even have a few surprises up our sleeves!’
“Not only am I excited to be hosting the 15th annual BET Awards alongside my on-screen hubby, but I am so honoured to also be a nominee! The BET Awards always deliver an epic evening with the best of the best across movies, sports, TV and music,’ said Tracee Ellis Ross.
The BET Awards recognises artists, entertainers, and athletes across 20 categories each year. The nominations are selected by BET’s Voting Academy, which is comprised of fans and an esteemed group of entertainment professionals in the fields of television, film, music, social media, digital marketing, sports journalism, public relations, and the creative arts.
Eight contemporary African artists have been nominated in the “Best International Act: Africa’ category at this year’s awards ceremony. Representing for Africa are Aka (South Africa), The Soil (South Africa), Wizkid (Nigeria), Yemi Alade (Nigeria), Sarkodie (Ghana), Stonebwoy (Ghana), Fally Ipupa (Democratic Republic of Congo) and Sauti Sol (Kenya). In addition, Tanzanian supermodel Millen Magese has been awarded the inaugural Global Good Award in recognition of her philanthropic efforts in Africa.
