Buni.tv launches embeddable player and affiliate program

African video-on-demand platform Buni.tv, is launching a new embeddable player and affiliate program, which will allow blogs, film festivals, and the filmmakers themselves to share movies directly on their websites and get paid for it.

Buni.tv’s premium subscription service Buni+, which launched last year, gives users unlimited access to top African films for $5 monthly, and is accessible on any internet-connected device at www.buni.tv/plus.

After registering at Buni.tv, partners can embed the Buni.tv player directly on their own website. Viewers are able to watch a free trailer and pay directly within the Buni.tv player should they choose to watch the full video, without leaving the partner’s website. Those who already have an active Buni+ account do not need to pay again and can watch the video immediately after logging in.

Affiliates such as blogs or festivals earn a 10% commission on each sale made on their site. For filmmakers who already receive 50% of the revenue generated by their film, the affiliate program brings their total share to 60%. Buni.tv continues to support all technical costs, including video hosting and streaming.

At the moment, payments can be made using a credit or debit card, with other payment systems such as Paypal and mobile money to be added soon.
