The Africa in Motion Film Festival, which takes place from 24 October to 9 November in
Glasgow and Edinburgh, has selected South African short film Picture Perfect
Heist to represent the continent. Selected from 80 entrants from across Africa,
the film will screen in both cities on 3 November.
Produced by BENCHfilms, the film features two crooks who plan an ambitious heist of
the National Gallery. While one of them is confident they can pull it off, the other is
convinced they’ve over-looked something.
Picture Perfect Heist is written by Brent Palmer who also co-produced the
short film with Hisham Samie. Other crew members include director Alan Shelley,
cinematographer Christoph Hagen, editor and assistant director Angus Innes, production
assistant and script supervisor Margaret Zambonini, assistant director Riaz Solker, gaffer
Barry de Kock, location sound and final mixer Suzanne Wessels, gaffer Simon Antonelli,
grip Fuad Casker, 2nd assistant cameramen Jacob Classens and Toto Dzingwa, DIT
Holmes Okechukwe and make-up artists Jessica Nixon and Jzadir Du Plessis.
Brent Palmer and Adrian Collins star in the film.
