Ramphele Joins DA
After it was announced that Mamphela Ramphele was the DA’s presidential
candidate this week, critics called the move political opportunism while she said
her decision was partly inspired by Nelson Mandela’s death. The question now is
whether she can succeed in winning over sceptical voters and supporters who
feel betrayed by her choice.

Cape Parrots
There are less than 1,000 Cape Parrots left in the wild and these birds thrive on
South Africa’s most valued timbre tree, the Yellowwood. In the Hogsback
Mountains of the Eastern Cape, Dr Steve Boyes is trying to save a bird and a
tree.
