FOX International Channels (FIC) Europe and Africa announced that Vera Pinto
Pereira, who was previously TV Service Director of Portugal Telecom’s Pay-TV
platform MEO, has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of FIC
Southern Europe and Africa.
Based in FIC’s Lisbon office and reporting to Executive Vice President for
Southern Europe and Africa Adam Theiler, her role will entail strengthening
existing relationships with affiliate partners across the region and focusing on
new business opportunities.
Adam Theiler, Executive Vice President for Southern Europe and Africa, said:

COO for the region she will be instrumental in defining our strategic path forward
across territories in different stages of development. Vera shares the same drive

Pereira led a team of 60 people in Portugal Telecom’s TV division during a time
when MEO rose to one of the leading operators in the Portuguese market. A
number of significant milestones can be credited to Pereira, including launching a
Pay-TV service across four platforms; creating the first Video-on-Demand service
in Portugal; developing multiple channel TV interactivity experiences; and
devising a digital on TV marketplace offering more than 40 apps and games.
