During the month of November, Mzansi Magic provides an entertaining line-up of proudly South African shows.

On Sunday 3 November at 19h00 Mzansi Magic airs the praise-and-worship talk show, Gospel Alive, featuring some of gospel megastars, including Rebecca Malope, Jabu Hlongwane, Keke and Sipho Makhabane.

Hosted by Khaya Mthethwa, Idols SA Season 8 and Clash of the Choirs: SA winner, the show gives fans the opportunity to ask their favourite gospel musicians questions.

Mthethwa makes his television debut as musical director on the series and says: “What excites me the most about the show is that it is a fresh concept. This show is going to go places South African gospel shows have never been before. I am so honoured to be part of it and I can’t wait to see how Mzansi Magic viewers will embrace it.’

In a new couples’ game show that broadcasts at 18h00 on Thursday 7 November, love is pushed to the wire. Host Kenneth Nkosi puts engaged couples’ knowledge of each other to the ultimate test in Wang Verstana, helping them judge whether their relationships are truly founded upon key factors of longevity.

Nkosi says: “Wang Verstana is a game show that offers young couples an opportunity to have fun with their relationship before they tie the knot and to showcase the positive side of their relationships by making fun of themselves.’

The ground-breaking talk show Sifunu’ukwazi debuts on Thursday 7 November at 18h30 and features discussions on the noteworthy and interesting topics in the country. Host Linda Sibiya says: “I am passionate about making a difference in people’s lives and it is fulfilling to be able to do so on such a great platform.’

Both Wang Verstana and Sifunu’ukwazi are simulcast on Mzansi Magic and Mzansi Wethu.

The Lokshin Bioskop series returns to Mzansi Magic with five new local films airing in November. Four-part series, Naledi, features action-man Ronnie Nyakale and television veteran Nthati Moshesh in a story of a man fighting for his dignity after having his livelihood taken away by a major mining firm. The first episode screens on Saturday 9 November at 19h00.

On Thursday 21 November at 19h00 another Lokshin Bioskop film, Lokshin Fashionista, airs on Mzansi Magic and features the story of a Soweto glam queen on a quest to become South Africa’s next style icon.
