In the previous series of popular kykNET television programme Woef & Kie (Woof &
Co.) viewers were introduced to 75 dog and 22 cat breeds.
This time round, Woef & Kie focuses on more unknown and rare breeds of dogs and
cats with an additional spotlight on thousands of pets in pounds waiting for homes
and families to adopt them.
At the end of the show, the producers aim to try and find homes for 10 orphaned
dogs and five cats.
Developments in the pet industry, such as newly manufactured artificial limbs,
import procedures for pets and various pet shows that have been held throughout
South Africa, will also be examined.
Different types of sports that owners and their pets can do together are also
featured, such as Schutzhund (German for “protect dog’), retrieving, tracking and
sheep herding competitions.
Woef & Kie is, however, not the exclusive domain of dogs and cats, as the series
also introduces viewers to Chinchilas (a type of rodent), snakes and hedgehogs.
Throughout the series the attention will be on the joy that pet owners experience by
sharing their homes with their four-legged friends and the advantages of these
special unions.
