NSR and Reuters report that the world’s first 4K TV (2160p) broadcast will launch in Japan in July 2014. This move is spearheaded by the Japanese government and is seen as a way of igniting interest in UltraHD TV sets in the country.
The Japanese 4K TV launch is reportedly two years ahead of schedule and follows satellite provider Eutelsat’s recent deployment of the first ever 4K channel for experimental services.
