The January edition of live comedy showcase, Comedy Central Presents… Live at Parker’s takes place at Montecasino in Johannesburg on Wednesday, 30 January 2013. Comic and actor Joey Rasdien will headline the evening with supporting comedy from Trevor Gumbi, Nina Hastie and Paul Snodgrass.
Rasdien (@JoeyRasdien) is instantly recognisable because of his many appearances on television and in movies such as Bunny Chow and Material. His thought-provoking stand-up comedy plays heavily on pinpointing the idiosyncrasies within societies and communities.
Paul Snodgrass (@Snoddie) is a versatile comedian, writer, broadcaster and extreme golfer. He is a founding member of the Cape Comedy Collective and Comedy All Stars in Cape Town and is a regular performer at the Kingsize Comedy shows and Heavyweight Comedy Jam.
Outspoken and sometimes controversial, Trevor Gumbi (@TrevorGumbi) raises politically uncomfortable issues and delivers them with hilarity. He has appeared at major comedy events such as King & Queens of Comedy, Oppikoppi, Rocking the Daisies, Kingsize Comedy Jams, Blacks Only, Laugh out Loud and the Arts Alive comedy festival.
Nina Hastie specialises in sharp observation and tackles issues from which many people would shy away. Hastie (@ThatNinaHastie) is a comedy festival regular and has voiced characters for the feature animated films The Adventures of Dick King and Bushfire Fairytales.
