The Guardian reports that while 147 broadcasters bought the rights for the London 2012 Olympics, only a dozen or so broadcasters have done so for the Paralympic Games, which commence in London on 29 August and run until 9 September.

UK public broadcaster Channel 4 will reportedly provide more UK TV coverage of the Paralympics than ever before – some 500 hours. This is about a 400% increase on the BBC’s 2008 coverage.

More than 50% of Channel 4’s presenting team are disabled.
