The 14th edition of Extreme Fighting Championships (EFC) Africa was held on 1 June at Carnival City in Johannesburg. The tournament was broadcast live on free-to-air channel e.tv and Nu Metro cinemas and was streamed live online.
EFC’s popularity has soared over the past months due to the recent broadcast partnership with e.tv says Cairo Howarth, EFC Africa president.
“Through EFC Africa’s deal with e.tv the tournament has been watched by close to five million fans in the last six months. This cements Mixed Martials Arts (MMA) as one of the most popular sports in Africa and we still have plenty of growth ahead,’ he states.
The live broadcast of EFC Africa was produced by Johannesburg-based FinePoint Productions with Shaun Pearce as the show’s director.
