Mail & Guardian reports that pay-TV broadcaster MultiChoice has been fined R10,000 by the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of SA (BCCSA) for the inappropriate age restriction assigned to an episode of Banzai, a gaming comedy show shown on the Sony Max channel on the MultiChoice DStv platform.
The fine follows a viewer’s complaint of a full frontal shot of male genitalia in the episode which had been classified as PG13.
MultiChoice has taken responsibility for error, saying it should have had a 16 classification.
