The panel of judges on SABC1’s Live Talent Search has announced the Top 4 Finalists for the sought after presenting position on Live. Viewers will get to see the finalists in action on Live from Friday 20 April.
The national search started in February 2012 and received a positive response from the youth of Mzansi, who showed up in their thousands to the announced venues in the regions. The biggest crowd was recorded in Johannesburg where well over 3,000 hopefuls congregated at the Bassline in Newtown.
The panel of judges, made up of representatives from the SABC and the production house, announced the Top 14 the previous week. Now the audition process has produced the Top 4 Finalists who will get the opportunity to co-host the show with Bonang in the final leg of the auditions process.
The Top 4 Finalists are:
20-year old Nomuzi “Moo-zlie’ Mabena from Gauteng, a confident, ambitious and determined young lady who is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Communication and English;
23-year old Marv Mavrik (Mpumelelo Mavi) from Gauteng describes himself as “positivity personified”. He is currently a TV Presenter on a community channel and also in training to be a radio presenter on Voice of Wits Campus Radio;
23-year old Wade Delagey from KwaZulu-Natal is not your typical white guy – he is fluent in isiZulu and has a keen interest in South African cultures. He has a background in radio having worked at Youth Radio as a presenter. He also featured on SABC1 comedy series, Abo Mzala, as Jason.
23-year old Luthando Shosha from Port Elizabeth studied Interior Design and started working as a show host on Kingfisher FM in 2011. She later joined Bay TV as a presenter.
At this stage the public will be called on to express their preference when the voting lines are opened on Friday 20 April at 10pm. Viewers are encouraged to SMS their votes via the Voting Line at 39060.
The Top 4 voting process will close at midnight on Wednesday 25 April, and this stage of the process will produce the Top 2 Finalists.
The Top 2 will go through to the next round of eliminations where each finalist will get a chance to present an entire show with Bonang (Fridays 27 April and 4 May). At the end of their specific shows the finalists will ask viewers to vote for them.
The ultimate winner will be revealed on the show on 11 May.
