The new season of popular Friday evening youth show Jam Alley Crew vs Crew begins on Friday 30 March at 6pm with some fresh and exciting changes.
The show has roped in Metro FM Presenter and celebrated DJ Sphe to bring additional vibe and energy. The other new face to grace the show is that of lovely Noluthando Meje (What’s Your Story 2, Home Affairs, Interrogation Room) who will take her place alongside Slikour as co-presenter.
“Unlike the shows I’ve presented in the past, I get to have fun and bring out my crazy personality,’ says excited Meje. “I’m not replacing anyone, but see this as an opportunity that has been passed on to me by the legends who paved the way for the show to be what it is today. And, for this I am truly grateful.’
The focus of the new season will centre its content on singing, music, quizzes and free styling games. A group of five friends come together to test their music knowledge, rhyming skills and singing skill in pursuit of the R10,000 prize. The feel of the content will also be different with DJ Sphe on the decks. Besides dishing the hottest music on the dance floor, he will be taking on the judging role as well.
Quizzed on the channel’s viewpoint regarding the new season of the youth show, SABC1’s Vukile Madlala responds, “The changes in the new season of Jam Alley are perfectly in line with the channel’s stated objective; to embrace the changing social reality and to continue to be relevant with our core target audience.’
“Watch out for Slikour and his brand new co-host, it-girl Nolly-Nolz. The chemistry between this pair is sizzling and they are set to become a presenting team to be reckoned with. The new resident DJ, judge and “man with an opinion”, DJ Sphectacular also brings some great energy, and the three of them make a great team and the viewers can definitely look forward to an exciting season of Jam Alley – Crew vs Crew,’ says excited producer, Lindi Lucouw.
With Slikour, Nolly and DJ Sphe, this season of Jam Alley Crew vs Crew, sees a team that will bring new and fresh entertainment to this 19 year old show that recently scooped a Golden Horn for Best Youth & Children Programme at the SAFTAS 2012.
