Widely known for presenting SABC3’s entertainment show Flash, South African actress Roxy Burger has returned to ONE Gospel and will be presenting the new season of Unashamed with Xylon van Eyck.
Unashamed is a show where celebrities can tell the world about their relationship with Jesus. It’s a show where the story is more important than the set, the make-up and what others will think. The show is about freedom, truth and God and holds nothing back.
The two presenters go deep in conversation with the celebrity guests about the reality and rawness of being a Christian. They talk about doubts and fears and how to peel back the layers of “perfect” Christianity.
Unashamed airs on Mondays at 7pm and on Tuesdays at 11am.
Burger is best known as a presenter for KTV on M-Net. She was a celebrity contestant on the M-Net reality competition Survivor South Africa: Maldives, in 2011.
She began her career at the tender age of 10 in TV commercials. This early period in her career also made space for a leading role in an international Disney made-for-TV movie as well as a Discovery Kid’s television series, Scout’s Safari, which went on to win an Emmy Award.
Burger’s kids presenting career culminated in her being chosen to represent KTV at the 2007 Kid’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles, California.
After finishing Matric, Burger enrolled in a three-year Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Johannesburg, in Audiovisual Production Management. She presented and produced Teen Gospel Live which broadcast live four days a week on the DStv religious channel ONE Gospel, beginning on 4 November 2007.
