SABC1 announced a new schedule from 1 October which will see major changes affecting the 6pm and 6:30pm time-slots.
This forms part of the channel’s Reloaded Campaign, introduced in August 2010, which already saw the refreshing and revitalising of shows including Live, RGB, Selimanthuzi, Jam Alley and Seskhona.
Among the shows affected is international soap The Bold and the Beautiful, which will be scheduled at 6:30pm from the first week of October.
Reality show Dance Your Butt Off will move from Tuesdays to Saturdays from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, with celebrity lifestyle magazine show RGB now broadcast on Tuesdays at 7pm.
The 6pm timeslot will be occupied by youth shows including Mzansi Insider, Selimathunzi, Seskhona and Jam Alley.

“Our focus is ensuring that the brand maintains its position as the torch-bearer and trend-setter.’
Some of the highlights coming up on SABC1 include local drama series Shreds & Dreams (starting Thursday 8 September at 10:30pm), about an intelligent but traditional rural young woman who is forced to leave home when her husband rejects her for being barren. She moves to Johannesburg to pursue her dream of becoming a lawyer.
Local drama Skeem Saam starts on Thursday 13 October at 8:30pm, and follows the lives of three boys who grapple with tough conflicts as they navigate their journey to manhood in a Limpopo township.
The 11th series of local educational drama Soul City starts on Tuesday 18 October at 8:30pm. It is set in a community that has fallen on hard times and where service delivery is too slow, and will focus on Sis Noni, a community stalwart and health campaigner, and thorn in the side of local councillor Philani.
