New reports surfaced this week of trouble behind the scenes of pay-TV channel M-Net’s new soap, The Wild. According to TV with Thinus executive producer Bronwyn Berry and series producer Richard Nosworthy resigned with three months’ notice. This follows reports of a string of other resignations.
According to the reports Berry will be replaced by Bobby Heaney from Imani Media, raising questions as to whether The Wild will stay an M-Net in-house production. However, M-Net has said that Magic Factory will continue to produce the show, with in-contracted expertise.
Screen Africa could not get independent confirmation of the reports from M-Net, but spoke to a crew member involved in the matter who said that negotiations with M-Net are still on-going.
