Young South African viewers can tune into a number of highlights on the Disney Channel (DStv channel 303) in June, including triple episodes of the comedy series Sonny With A Chance on Sundays from 12 June from 6pm. A new episode will air each week at 6.45pm.
The series tells the story of Allison "Sonny" Munroe, a talented Midwestern girl who, after posting her homemade comedy videos online, is discovered by a television producer and gets the chance to star in So Random!, the most popular sketch comedy series for kids and tweens.
Also on the schedule is a weekend (18 and 19 June) of Disney Leading Ladies. From 11.15am there will be mini marathons featuring Bea from Fish Hooks, Selena from Wizards of Waverly Place, all the girls from Good Luck Charlie, and Phineas & Ferb episodes that focus on Isabella and the Fireside Girls.
Movies showing on the channel include the animated masterpiece Cars, which premieres on 12 June at 8.50am, and High School Musical on 25 and 26 from 8.50am.
Disney Channel viewers can also look forward to the Jake & Blake Finale Marathon (including three brand new episodes) on 24 June at 8.25am.
There will be brand new episodes throughout June of the comedy series, Shake it Up and the adventures of best friends CeCe Jones and Raquel “Rocky” Blue, whose dreams of becoming professional dancers are realised when they become background dancers on the most popular teen dance show, Shake It Up Chicago.
Times are 4 June at 10:30am, Sunday 12 June at 10:45am and 18 and 25 June at 10:30am. New episodes of Wizards of Waverly Place will premiere on 4 June at 11:40am, 12 June at 11:10amd and Sunday 19 June at 12:00am. The series follows the adventures of the Russo family who come from a long line of wizards.
