A photo of American actress Faye Dunaway, star of classics such as Bonnie and Clyde, The Thomas Crown Affair, Chinatown and Network (for which she won an Oscar), features on the official poster of this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
The photograph was taken by Jerry Schatzberg in 1970. Schatzberg directed Dunaway in Puzzle of a Downfall Child which was released in the same year. The film will be screened at Cannes with both Dunaway and Schatzberg in attendance.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, festival organisers describes the image of Dunaway on the poster as a “model of sophistication and timeless elegance, it is an embodiment of the cinematic dream that the Festival de Cannes seeks to maintain’.
The Cannes Film Festival takes place in Cannes, France from 11 to 22 May.
