The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) will host a Spectrum Regulation and Management Workshop from 24 to 25 March 2011 at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg.
The workshop is aimed at bringing the understanding of modern models of spectrum management; and at debating whether Southern African Development Countries should further liberalise the spectrum markets.
The Spectrum Regulation and Management Workshop will therefore provide a platform for debates around the new role of the ICT regulator regarding management and allocation of spectrum.
The first day of the Workshop will focus on streamlining regulation for efficient spectrum use while the last day will focus on pricing and trading of spectrum.
The workshop is part of the series of meetings that will culminate in an Annual General Meeting that will see the merger of the Communications Regulators Association of Southern Africa (CRASA) and Southern African Postal Regulators Association (SAPRA) organisations from 31 March 2011 to 01 April 2011 at the same venue.
