YouTube saw the premiere of a film called the “first major motion picture made for the Internet’ on Friday.
The Hollywood Reporter said the comedy, Girl Walks Into a Bar, raises the bar for web-original content despite being made on a microscopic budget.
The film is directed by Sebastian Gutierrez and stars Carla Gugino from Entourage, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Zachary Quinto, and includes big names like Danny DeVito, Josh Hartnett and Rosario Dawson.
According to the Hollywood reporter the film revolves around Gugino as a former detective gathering proof that a local dentist (Zachary Quinto) wants to have his wife killed. During the film the lives of a group of apparent strangers intertwine in a series of stories taking place in ten different bars during the course of one evening in Los Angeles.
