From 7 to 9 February 2011 the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) will hold a workshop in Douala, Cameroon on creating and managing an appropriate Universal Service and Access mechanism.
The workshop will focus on key issues surrounding Universal Service & Access Agencies (USAF).
Key topics include:
- Key policy and regulatory elements required to set up a Universal Service and Access
- Options in management models for Universal Service and Access Agencies
- Gaining broad stakeholder engagement including that of operators
- Designing interventions that will deliver speedy results
- Accessing hidden wealth of unconnected communities
Facilitated by the CTO, the programme will be based on global best practices and will be highly interactive. It will help facilitate brainstorming by delegates to arrive at the optimal solutions for their unique needs.
