Sports fans now have an opportunity to try out the game of commentating. SuperSport’s has launched the Super Diski “Goalmouth’ competition which will give the winner the chance to commentate at a live game on SuperSport.
“Many people fancy themselves as experts – this is their chance,’ said Luyanda Peter, SuperSport’s head of brand management. “This could lead to great things for the eventual winner.’
There are a number of ways to enter. The first is via phone — 083 900 GOAL (4625) — with callers asked to provide their details and an example of game commentary. The competition judges, who will include experts and celebrities, will go through the voice messages and select finalists, who will then be informed.
Super Diski will also have mobile recording booths set up in and around South Africa’s major malls in coming weeks.
Using pre-recorded video clips, aspirant commentators will be able to demonstrate their skills while seated in the soundproof booth. The public will be entertained via TV screens and speakers.
Again, the judges will assess the video clips.
There will be Goalmouth activations in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Durban, Bloemfontein and Cape Town.
