The Soico-STV channel in Mozambique will premiere the drama China Bargain on 27 December. A Globo TV International partner since 2002, the channel recently televised other Brazilian productions such as the miniseries Maysa – When the heart sings, which was entered for an International Emmy, The Maias, and the series Antonia.
Currently Soico-STV’s primetime slot airs the drama India – A Love Story which has been screened in more than 90 countries and was a winner of the International Emmy Award 2009 in the category of Best Telenovela.
Soico-STV is the principal communications group in Mozambique and possesses a television channel, newspapers, magazines, a site and a radio station. Since 2009, Africans have the opportunity to watch more than 700 hours of TV Globo programming. The deal between the two companies is valid till 2011 and it includes the televising of telenovelas, documentaries and drama and comedy series.
