The Guardian reports that total UK TV ad spend is likely to be up by about 8% year on year come this October. Some of the growth is attributed the increased spending around the recent 2010 Fifa World Cup.
The positive forecast for the last quarter of the year comes as a relief to the industry which was anxious that the ad spend recovery would fizzle out over the last three months of the year.
It is predicted that the most successful UK broadcaster in terms of ad revenue will be ITV, although Channel 4’s outlook is also healthy. Channel 5 is likely to show the least growth in revenue.
