SABC Public Service Broadcasting (PBS) Radio division has announced the appointment of Sibongile Mtyali as the station manager for Motsweding FM. She took over the management of the station as of 1 July 2010.
Mtyali comes from a strong radio broadcast background, having started her career within the community radio sector as presenter, producer, compiler, programmes manager and the regional chairperson of the National Community Radio Forum between 1996 and 2000.
She joined the SABC in 2001 as a producer at SABC Education before she became the Radio Project Manager for Youth Development in 2003. She later became the first Radio Commissioning Editor at the SABC’s Content Enterprises in 2006 before she was appointed by PBS Radio as a Programmes Manager for Motsweding FM in 2007. In the past two years, Mtyali acted as station manager for Thobela FM and Motsweding FM respectively.
Another appointment within the PBS Radio portfolio is. Christinah Mazibuko has been appointed marketing manager at Ligwalagwala FM. She joined the SABC in 2008, as a promotions and publicity officer at Ligwalagwala FM. Before her appointment, she also served as acting marketing manager for the station. She brings a wealth of marketing, events and promotions experience, having worked as a marketing manager at a leading conference company, as well as a promotions coordinator in the entertainment industry
