It’s all happening at MIPTV

Some 12,000 TV programming executives are expected to attend the premier global content market MIPTV, which takes place in Cannes, France from 12 to 16 April.

Major exhibitors include the likes of 20th Century Fox International TV, ZDF, NHK, BBC Worldwide, Discovery Communications, National Geographic, Disney Media Distribution, Endemol Group, FremantleMedia, HBO, Mediaset Distribution, MGM, MTV Networks and National Geographic, among many more.

A record number of National Pavilions will participate in MIPTV 2010, hosting a rich cross-section of exhibitors representing independent production capabilities and local talent from 25 countries. The countries represented are: Argentina (new for 2010), Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, The European Commission, Finland, France, French Speaking Countries (OIF), Germany, Israel, Italy, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Syria, Thailand, US/IFTA and UK/PACT.

MIPTV’s first ever “Producers’ Forum’ presents a full programme of conferences, workshops and matchmaking events specifically created to help the MIPTV participants whose principal activity is television production develop their projects and fund production.

Another new initiative, the Co-production Spotlight 2010, is designed to identify fresh international co-production opportunities and facilitate production development. A superpanel featuring studio majors from MGM, ITV, E1 and Myriad Entertainment amongst others will draw the big picture on current co-production trends.

Regional Co-Prod Workshops spotlighting China, Malaysia, Brazil, Canada, Japan and Singapore will boost creative collaboration between producers worldwide.
