British satellite broadcaster BSkyB notched up 172,000 new subscribers from October to December. It is now in 9.7 million households.
The Guardian reports that the broadcaster has reported a 10% rise in revenue, year on year to £2.9bn.
BSkyB attributes this success to the excellent take up of its high definition offering, Sky+HD. There has been a 156% year-on-year increase of households with the HD offering.
