After three weeks of release A Christmas Carol (including 3D) has finally made it to the top of the South African box office, bumping previous topper, Michael Jackson: This is It into fourth spot. For the weekend of 20 to 22 November, the Jim Carrey-voiced A Christmas Carol made R651,476 (with cumulative box office at R2.5m).
Second spot for the same weekend was Law Abiding Citizen (starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler), followed by Bruce Willis’ Surrogates. The Ugly Truth was in fifth spot, having made R8.7m after seven weeks.
To date Michael Jackson: This is It has made R8.7m.
