Independent digital companies in the north of England will be able to pitch for four interactive children’s TV projects to be produced for BBC North. This is courtesy of a new £500,000 fund.

The Guardian reports that the @North fund wants to prompt youthful versions of the likes of Online Den, a successful interactive spin-off from Dragons’ Den. In this show, contestants present their business ideas to five wealthy entrepreneurial businesspeople and/or “Dragons”.

Potential bidders for the four interactive TV projects will undergo workshops in January and February in preparation for their final pitches, likely to take place in September 2010.
