Media mogul Ruport Murdoch of News Corp is considering blocking Google to stop people reading online content in his publications (including The Times and Wall Street Journal) for free.
This means that New Corp stories will be removed from Google’s search index, thus encouraging people to pay for content online. Murdoch is still, according to The Guardian, UK, coming up with a plan for website charges.
The rise of the Internet as a primary platform for news has diminished newspaper readership worldwide and is a cause of great concern for publishers. As per The Guardian, Murdoch and News Corp executives have been accusing Google of stealing its content.
