A Nigerian film maker Mr Victor Okhai has been appointed the president
of the jury of the international digital competition for long feature
films of the Cairo International Film Festival. The festival is the oldest and biggest film festival in the Arab world and middle east and takes place from 10 – 20 November in Cairo, Egypt.
Mr Victor Okhai, one of the founders of the Directors’ Guild of
Nigeria, is a producer, scriptwriter, director and film consultant.
Currently the director general of the International Film and Broadcast
Academy Lagos, he is in great demand as a teacher and resource person
on film locally and internationally and has delivered papers on the
Nollywood phenomenon in various Universities and Film Festivals.
He is also a consultant to many organisations on film, television production
and broadcasting including Channels Television, Imo Television, AIT,
MBI TV, DeutcheWelle (Africa Dept), BBC World Service Trust, Goethe
Institute Lagos, The German Embassy in Nigeria, and Berlin
International Film Festival.
A director of the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria MCSN, Victor Okhai has also been on the jury of many local and international film festivals.
